Accessibility Statement

Website Accessibility

We want everyone who visits Yelm Community Schools websites to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.

Yelm Community Schools websites are committed to providing access to all individuals, with or without disabilities, seeking information on our website. The District, in evaluating and planning for accessibility, will comply with the standards of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen level AA as the target for our websites.

PageAssist

PageAssist is a personalization toolbar that helps display our website in a way that is more usable and visually accessible. It helps to ensure an equal experience for all visitors. It gives visitors options to customize their experience based on their own unique needs. The PageAssist button is in the lower-left corner of every website page. Clicking the button will open the PageAssist menu.

Need Assistance

If, because of a disability, you are unable to access content on the Yelm Community Schools’ website, have questions about the accessibility of content or technology used by the District, and/or would like to report barriers to accessing any technology used by the District, including this website, please email webmaster@ycs.wednet.edu or call the main office at 360.458.1900.

We will attempt to provide the information you are seeking and will seek to resolve any issues regarding inaccessibility of the information on the Yelm Community Schools website.

Barrier-Free Access & Effective Communication Support

Yelm Community Schools is committed to ensuring that all District-sponsored programs, activities, meetings, and services will be accessible to individuals with disabilities, including persons who have impaired hearing, vision or speech. The District will strive to make such accommodations as effective as they would be for persons without disabilities. All buildings have designated disabled parking and entrance ramps to provide easy access. Each building on the campus has at least one door that is accessible by wheelchair.

If effective communication support is needed, such efforts could include furnishing appropriate auxiliary aids and services that would afford an individual with a disability an equal opportunity to participate in, and enjoy the benefits of, programs, activities, meetings, or services conducted or sponsored by the District, including the District’s website. For purposes of this policy, “auxiliary aids and services” include a wide range of services, devices, technologies, and methods for providing effective communication.

To request accommodations, please submit the a request to the Office of the Student Support. The more advance notice you are able to provide, the higher likelihood that your request can be fulfilled.
